TRAVEL & ACCOMODATION

If you are traveling by train to Bristol, you should be able to buy your train tickets three months in advance in order to get the best ticket deals.

There is no parking at either of the venues, and they are both in residential areas, so if you are able we would encourage you to leave cars at home or where you are staying, and to help you:

The Ceremony venue is out in South Bristol. Whether you are coming by train or from elsewhere in Bristol, we will provide coaches from Temple Meads train station to the Zion Centre for the ceremony, and then to the reception venue afterwards in Boiling Wells. Please let us know when you RSVP if you would like a seat on these coaches.

Alternatively, you could make your own way by public transport, bicycle or taxi.

(By the by… We are keen cyclists, as you know, and though we do not wish to discourage cycling, even we might hesitate to take the bike option on this route - it’s neither a particularly pleasant nor short ride between venues. But check out the route if you’d like!)

The reception venue is through two tunnels on Boiling Wells Lane, past a City Farm and some characterful self-build houses. If you're coming by train, the local train goes to Stapleton Road and you can walk up through St Werberghs.

You may wish to book a taxi for the end of the night.

The ceremony will be based on a Quaker meeting for worship - gathering together in peace and silence, and sharing with each other any thoughts or offerings should you feel moved to do so.

Boiling Wells is an outdoor venue - a woodland reserve in the heart of the city. There will be some covered areas and indoor spaces, but largely it will be open to the elements. Please bear this in mind when considering footwear and clothing for the day! Something warm and something waterproof may come in handy. For those with little ones coming too, the woodland reserve is a wonderful place to explore and enjoy, and we look forward to many little feet, knees and hands toddling around. Please be aware, for their safety, that there are some steep slopes and a nearby stream.

At Boiling Wells, we will be kicking off the celebrations with an afternoon tea picnic. Instead of gifts, we would love for you to bake or make a contribution to this meal. We have put together a menu from which you can choose what and how much you feel able to contribute.

Later in the day there will be pizza catered by a travelling stone-baked pizza van, followed by tea, coffee and desserts. Please let us know when you RSVP if you have any dietary requirements that you would like us to cater for.

ANNA & MARK

a joining of hands and a joining of names
A Joining of Names

The desire to gather friends and family to celebrate a wedding at this point in our relationship, follows the birth of our daughter, Freya. We invite you to be witness to the joining of our two family names - Biddle and Corbin - into one, to become Cordle.

Gifts

Some cliches are worth reiterating: your presence at our wedding is gift enough, and we appreciate the cost of travel and accommodation involved for some in coming to celebrate with us. Thank you for this!

As previously mentioned, we would love it if you felt able to contribute to the afternoon tea picnic by signing up to provide some home-made treats selected from our menu below. There are some alternative ideas here too, in case the prospect of making or baking fills you with terror, though we think you are all great cooks!

PRESENCE, FOOD AND OTHER GIFTS

As big a batch as you feel like making, with clotted cream and strawberry or raspberry jam (the more homemade the better, obviously).

In case you want to revise a recipe, here's Delia's

Scones

Sponge drowned in drizzle. Lemon, or Grapefruit for the unconventional.

In case you don't have your own favourite recipe, this one claims perfection

Citrus Drizzle

Gooey in the middle, crispy on the outside, extra bits or flavours optional.

In case you don't have your own favourite recipe, 847 people like this one a lot.

Brownies

If you're not into baking then

If you'd like to, pick an image that means something to you (a favourite photo, postcard or artwork) put it in a frame (rough and ready acceptable) and let us bring something of you into the Cordle home.

Frame Us a Picture

Or, if neither cake nor image suit,

We've already set up home. Which is lovely. But we don't get out of it much.

We'd love a contribution towards a bell tent and accoutrements to give us a home away from home.
